FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
I’m based primarily in Northamptonshire, covering the East Midlands and the surrounding area including Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Coventry, Bedfordshire and Peterborough. I’m more than happy to travel across the UK for sessions, so please get in touch if you live a little farther afield!
WHEN DO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
My sessions usually take place in the late afternoon or early evening. This is my favourite time to shoot because the sun is at its lowest point in the sky and creates the perfect light. With British weather being what it is, I can’t always guarantee sunshine, but if the weather doesn’t co-operate on the day then I’ll happily work with you to reschedule your session.
DOES MY DOG HAVE TO BE WELL TRAINED?
Whilst basic commands, such as sit and stay, are beneficial, the aim is to capture the personality of your pet and any antics they get up to, so you’re much more likely to get great shots if we allow him/her to act naturally and not force them into too many posed situations. I would recommend brushing up on your sit/stay commands in the days leading up to your session. If it’s still an issue, or your pet simply can’t be let off the lead, we can still work with your pet on a lead and I will work on removing it during post-processing – you’d be surprised what a little bit of Photoshop wizardry can do!
CAN I BE IN SOME OF THE PHOTOS?
Of course! Whilst my speciality lies in capturing your pet in all their furry glory, I know that some of the most special moments are those shared with you. If you want to get some memorable photos of you and your pet, feel free to jump in at any time. If you are going to be in the photos, be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Keep it simple, aim for neutral colours or denim and you can’t go wrong.
